I was born in Mexico and moved to Porterville when I was 9 years old. I am the youngest of 9 siblings. I learned the importance of an education from working in the fields with my parents. I enjoy teaching, reading and traveling. When I’m not being super teacher I’m enjoying with my family.
After graduating from Porterville High School in 2007, I attended Fresno State where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies and my Multiple Subject Credential with an emphasis in bilingual education. While at Fresno State I worked with California Mini-Corps, tutoring migrant students.
This will be my fifth year teaching dual immersion. This is my first year in fourth grade after teaching 4 years in kindergarten. The best part about teaching a new language is the growth I am able to see in the students. When a student who didn’t know the language can now communicate with me in Spanish, it brings me happiness and I know my mission has been accomplished.
